Changelog

What's new in QAdesk. The current release is v0.10.2.

v0.10.2
Current release
  • Fixed Report segment numbers now match your CAT tool. The Seg # in exported reports is the number you search by in Trados, memoQ, Phrase, Wordfast and XTM β€” previously empty structure placeholders in SDLXLIFF/IDML files could inflate the count and shift every number. Reports now count exactly the real, translatable segments, so a report's Seg # lands on the right segment.
v0.10.1
Earlier release
  • New Folder-watch β€” turn on πŸ‘ Watch for changes on the Dashboard and QAdesk keeps an eye on your imported files' folders. Re-save a file in your CAT tool and QAdesk re-imports it and re-runs QA automatically β€” the issue list refreshes on its own, no clicking. New files dropped into a watched folder are imported too; deleting a file leaves your project untouched. Saved per project, fully offline.
v0.10.0
Earlier release
  • New Grouped, colour-coded QA reports (Excel, PDF, HTML) β€” findings are grouped by check, Xbench-style, and colour-coded so problems are easy to scan. Consistency issues cluster same-source (or same-target) segments together and colour the odd-one-out differently, so the segment that breaks consistency jumps right out.
  • New Reference Library β€” a global, cross-project store of past bilingual files and TMs. Search your whole body of past work alongside the current project (scope: Project, Library, or Both).
  • New Monolingual Word (.docx) QA β€” check Word documents directly (spelling, checklist, punctuation and more), no bilingual conversion needed.
  • New Import a whole folder at once with Select folder… β€” the entire folder tree in one step.
  • New Xbench checklist interop β€” import and export ApSIC Xbench .xbckl checklists, plus a native .json format for lossless round-tripping between QAdesk projects.
  • New Multiple spell-check dictionaries β€” load several Hunspell dictionaries and pick per project, or let QAdesk auto-select the one matching the project's language.
  • New Headless command-line QA β€” run reports straight from the installed app with QAdesk.exe --qa, with a --fail-on gate for CI.
  • Improved Branded reports β€” every exported report now carries the QAdesk logo and a "Generated by" stamp.
  • Improved XTM support β€” XTM Cloud XLIFF exports are detected and labelled automatically.
v0.9.8
Earlier release
  • Fixed Learn more on a startup tip now opens the feature it describes. When that feature needs an open project and none is open, it shows a clear prompt to open one β€” instead of jumping to Projects.
v0.9.7
Earlier release
  • New A refreshed brand β€” a new QAdesk logo and wordmark, consistent across the app and the website.
  • Improved The About screen is product-first and made for translators, by a translator.
  • Fixed The Learn more button on a startup tip no longer opens an empty screen when no project is open β€” it takes you to Projects.
  • Fixed A stray line crossing the icon when the sidebar is collapsed.
v0.9.6
Earlier release
  • Improved A cleaner, product-first About screen, with a link to qadesk.net for updates and docs.
v0.9.5
Earlier release
  • New Automatic update checker β€” QAdesk now lets you know when a newer version is available, with one-click download. It's private (a single version check; no telemetry, nothing about you is sent), works offline, and can be turned off in Settings.
v0.9.4
Earlier release
  • New Next β†’ button and n/↓ keyboard navigation to step through QA issues; ignoring an issue now advances to the next one automatically.
  • New Editing fonts β€” per-side font & size for source and target text (e.g. a larger Nirmala UI for Devanagari targets).
  • Improved Smarter false-positive handling: annotation tags, tag-only segments, URLs/emails, and company/legal-entity names are no longer wrongly flagged as untranslated or as tag mismatches.
  • Improved Spelling ignores names carried verbatim from the source; bracket/quote checks compare against the source so cross-segment splits and apostrophes aren't flagged.
  • Fixed Company names and copyright lines left in the source language are surfaced as a warning, not a major error.
Earlier history coming soon. Detailed notes for prior versions are being compiled and will be added here.
